EAGLE BLANKET

The Eagle is a powerful icon for many reasons.

We speak of someone having Eagle eyes.

We sing of being borne up on Eagles’ wings.

We have named it as our national symbol,

and we have rescued it from extinction.

Because it flies higher than any other bird

it is believed by some to be a spiritual messenger

from the heavens,

representing wisdom and strength.

Soaring effortlessly on the wind,

Eagles inspire us to move with calm and grace.

In this time of turmoil it is wise

to sit on one’s Eagle perch,

be the observer,

and stay far above the conflicts and troubles

of the human world below.
